Penn Yan, NY Accomodations...

Good Morning and Welcome back to Bathroom Blues Travel Blog,

Today I'd like to share with you our accomodations while in Penn Yan, NY. 

We arrived on Tuesday, July 28th and went straight to our friend, Penny Carlton's house. Penny then showed us the way to the cabin we would stay in for most of our time there. 

Located minutes away from Keuka Lake, Hammondsport and Penn Yan, Hidden Hideaway II was lovely and comfortable.

If you know me at all, you know my dream home is a log cabin. Although Hidden Hideaway II was not log on the outside, all this beautiful wood inside warmed my heart! 

The hostess made sure we had plenty of coffee and snacks as well as towels, washcloths and other ammenities. 

When we arrived, we were informed that we would need to find other accomodations on Augst 1st (the day we had our booksigning at The Windmill) but only for 1 night. 

By sheer luck, or a miracle, as finding hotels, motels or B&B's with rooms available at a reasonable price this time of year in this highly visited area, is like finding a needle in a haystack.

However, we managed to grab the only double room available at Vinehurst Inn and Suites.

As a reader and writer, the old adage, "Never judge a book by it's cover," came into play when we drove up to this hotel.

I didn't get photos of the outside, but believe me when I say, I had some reservations about staying there. Until I walked into the room!

Does the word, 'retro' mean anything to you?

We could tell by the kitchenette and decor this hotel was built in way back when. In actuality the 1960s!

This room was immaculately clean - even with a "sanitized" strip on the toilet seat. It smelled as clean as it looked and the bed was very comfortable, the full bath spacious and the price reasonable.

If you're ever headed to Keuka, Hammondsport or Penn Yan, NY I highly recommend both of these places to rest between road trips around the area!
