Day 7 of Penn Yan, NY Trip...

It's Monday, August 3rd. We've been in Penn Yan for a full week now and, despite the "tired but happy" sense of uphoria that fills our bodies, our hearts are full of joy and wonder at all there still is to see! So we tak off on a trip to Watkins Glen and Montour Falls, to see a few of the waterfalls that pour out of the mountainside, like this one just off the road...

The traffic was too bad to try and cross to get a picture of the sign bearing the name of this one, but it is still a beautiful sight and you could hear the rushing water over the sound of vehicles passing by. In researching the Watkins Glen website under the Explore tab I found reference to Aunt Sarah's Falls and, by the description, I do believe, this is it.

We continued on into town where this lovely park sits in the center of Montour Falls and houses SheQuaGa Falls. This lovely park had benches, beautiful flower beds filled with a profusion of color and of course, the falls...

We didn't go to Watkins Glen State Park or hike the gorge due to time and limited mobility (maybe next time!), so we finished up our afternoon with a trip to see one of Penny's friends who had this gorgeous horse. If I remember correctly he is part Andalusian and Part Gypsy Vanner. Regardless, Nona and I got to pet and coo over his magnificent animal to our hearts content.

After a quick trip to Walmart, we headed back to our cabin in the woods for the evening and to rest up for the adventure planned for Tuesdaay.

I hope you'll drop by next week to see where we went. I promise, you won't be disappointed!

Until then, take care, God Bless and travel safely!
